I write these words to you
My life is over now
Please hold these words as true
I may have seemed a tyrant
Hard and oh so stern
Perhaps the way I taught you
Was for a lesson learned
You were the best
I felt a fathers pride
You didn't see my love
I guess I let it hide
Now that I have passed
I'll say what I wanted to before
That is that I love you

I'm proud of your accomplishments
The love you've always shown
I just wish you could have felt
The love I should have shown
