Heirlooms

Oh, how we treasure heirlooms,
Those gifts from long ago,
They remind us of those days before
And someone who loved us so!

This heirloom pin was given
To my sister who passed it on
To a cousin through adoption
To let her know the family lives on.

An heirloom ties together
All generations in a group,
Allowing you to see
The never ending loop.

I wonder who started this
Treasured gift filtered down through the years?
I wonder how many joys and
How many tears?

May we never forget our families
Are our most important element.
They are all we have
And they are God-sent!
