Feelings
My whole life I have waited,
waited for someone like you.
I think you have always known
my feelings for you,
but you have either closed your eyes
or not wanted to know they were there.
You have let me inside as a friend
and I have accepted that.
Now you have opened your eyes
and seen too late
that my feelings for you
are all very true.
You are now with someone else
and I'm not sure her love is true,
but if she hurts you
I will be there as I always
try to be.
I hope you can still trust
me enough to let me help you
when the time comes.
