But Wish I Might

Wishes are made of imagination’s thought,
Of sweet dreams dutifully sought.
Imagination can be a wonderful thing,
Temporary relief it can usually bring,

But imagination sometimes just won’t do,
Especially when it comes to being with you.
The dreams are vivid as can possibly be,
But they just aren’t enough sometimes for me.

For tonight I wish for something real,
A moment in time that I may steal.
That we could be together this night,
If I could, I would, but wish I might.
